“The Gaucho Way to Santiago” was inaugurated on October 19, 2014 and, chosen by the Consul General of Spain in Porto Alegre, Dr. José Pablo Alsina de Aguiar, for the local similarity of the topography of Galicia in Spain. The entire route is signaled by blue signs, yellow arrows and shells (scallops), which indicate the path to be followed. The route is 12 km long and is very similar to the Spanish way. The starting point is in Montenegro and ends at the Igreja Matriz. The participant who completes the route will receive the Pilgrim's Certificate offered by the Municipal Secretary of Culture and Tourism.
